FAQ

  • How long before my wedding date should I start shopping for my gown?  We strongly suggest you shop for and find your gown at least 8 – 12 months before your wedding.  This should leave enough time for production, shipping, and alterations.  In some instances, a rush can be placed on a gown order, but this is not guaranteed and not available for all gowns.  Don’t put yourself in a stressful situation!  Leave yourself plenty of time and enjoy the experience of shopping for your dream gown!  Once you find your gown – whether at our salon, or another fabulous boutique – our advice is to stop shopping!  Once you’ve selected your gown, you can sit back, relax, and look forward to wearing that stunning look you hand picked for your big day.

  • How much do your gowns cost?  Gown prices vary, but the average cost is approximately $3000.

  • What sizes do you carry?  Like many bridal boutiques, we carry one sample of each gown.  Our sample sizes range from bridal size 10 to 14.  Bridal sizing often runs differently than typical street sizing, and sizes differ from one designer to the next.  When trying on the samples, if a dress is too small or too big, we will use our bridal clips to hold the dress in place so you can get a clear idea of how the dress will look.  Sample gowns will rarely be a perfect fit, but don’t worry!  Your stylist will work to help you get a good idea of the fit and look of the dress, and your alterations will help you to obtain a fit perfectly suited to your measurements.

  • How long will it take for my gown to arrive?  On average it takes 3-4 months for our gowns to arrive once the order has been placed.

  • What if I arrive late for my appointment?  Appointments are 90 minutes long, and are scheduled to begin promptly at your confirmed time.  If you arrive late, we will not be able to extend the length of your appointment because to do so would take away from other appointments scheduled for later in the day.  We also suggest you leave plenty of time for parking so you do not feel any need to rush.  Bonus – there are plenty of delightful cafes and restaurants within walking distance of the salon where you can enjoy a drink or snack if you arrive early and have time to spare before your appointment!  These are also great places to celebrate after you’ve found your dress!

  • What should I wear to my appointment?  To care for our sample gowns we politely request that when trying on dresses brides keep their make up minimal and do not have on any tanning products.

  • Do I need to bring the shoes I will wear with my dress?  No, but you can if you want!  Many brides wait until they find their dress to select their shoes.  If you already have a pair that you love, you’re welcome to bring them along.  When it comes time to have alterations done, you will want to have your wedding day shoes on hand.

  • Who should I bring with me to my appointment?  This is your time, and we invite you to bring your loved ones with you to share your experience.  Because large groups can often overwhelm the appointment, making it difficult for you to stay relaxed and focused on your thoughts, we strongly suggest you keep your group total to 6 or less.

  • Do you have an onsite seamstress for alterations?  We do not have a seamstress onsite, but can refer you to a highly recommended, talented seamstress in the area.  If you do not live near our boutique, we strongly recommend working with a seamstress located near your home, as it is common for brides to need multiple fittings.  Working with someone located near you can save you a great deal of travel time and expense.

  • Will I need alterations? Yes!  It is best to plan your timing and budget on the assumption that you will need alterations, as you will want your gown to be fitted perfectly to you!

  • Does the price of the gown include alterations? No.  The price of alterations can vary dramatically depending on where you live, the fabric and cut of the dress, and the type of alterations you are requesting.  We suggest you expect alterations to cost approximately $400-$800.
